Making money on the internet

It's not really that difficult to sell products or services on the web - as long as you follow some very basic guidelines:
  • Work with someone that has experience in what you're trying to accomplish.
  • Do not allow price to be the driving force of who you work with. The old saying -You get what you pay for- is 100% true.
  • Have a clear idea of your goals for the website.
  • Do not lose sight of the importance of user experience.
  • Technology in search of a purpose is a losing idea... meaning unless you're a media company, do not use Flash technology. Additionally, do not use bleeding edge technology unless it's needed to accomplish your goals.
  • Did I mention user experience? Yeah... it's that important.
  • Make certain that your shopping cart works and does not throw errors. If it blows up, the chances of someone continuing to attempt to purchase from you are very minimal. The chances they have put away their credit card and are moving onto your competitor's website are close to 100%.
That's it for today!
